Sconces Are Uhh-mazing And Here Is Why
First of all, I would like to share, I was never a big fan of sconces. I always associated sconces to be old fashioned and honestly didn’t pay them any mind. The trend dawned on me during the time I worked for West Elm. People were more keen on using sconces than table lamps, which were either due to lack of space in these ever so small Bostonian apartments or the client just preferred the look of a sconce. Living in this era where living spaces seem to get increasingly smaller, emphasizes how practical and essential these light fixtures can be.
They Are Multi-Functional Decor Beasts
Not only do sconces make a good light source, they are great accessories for small spaces as well. While you can mount them at any height, it is an ideal tool to give a room verticality and definition. Furthermore, it frames large furniture pieces well and instantly draws the attention to that very same wall making it the focal point in any room.
The mobile and especially the oversized sconces were the most popular since they can stream light and simultaneously arch over different areas. As a result, they don’t take up any surface on side tables or on floors.
I hope this tip was helpful and inspired you to put these gems to use!
I’m curious, of how you would use a sconce in your space? Or are you eyeing one and need advice? Let me know and don’t forget to comment your thoughts below!

The thought of scones typically bring to mind the opaque off-yellow, old school, snazzy hotel type idea. These are really neat and totally different than I would have imagined.
