HOW ROUND FURNITURE PIECES ARE GOING MAINSTREAM

This trend has been present for A WHILE. I remember skimming through magazines and seeing these editorial vignettes featuring hyper curvy furniture. The emphasis should be on “editorial”. It always felt like this fashion worked for a magazine, but not necessarily for someones home. Like any trend, it feels like this tendency has undergone some type of evolution.

The evolution to make this style more commercial. As a result, increasingly more decor brands are introducing well-rounded furniture pieces like it’s the new black. A move away from conventional shapes and fully embracing these curves and the change in accepting “non-conventional” shapes. It goes well with the current social trend of inclusivity. Or maybe I’m looking too deep into it.

We are not just talking coffee tables and chairs. We are talking whole sofas and such. It’s sending all kinds of sexy and high fashion vibes and I am all the way here for it.

The roundness exudes a certain kind of softness to the eye. Paired with very muddy and sourcing from a rather neutral color pallet creating this serene look that makes this style more appealing. In a rather block-ish shaped room, these round figures serve a stark contrast to the perpendicular walls, which is why it translates into a unique and dynamic yet clean look.

I can’t wait to be able to play around with this look in real life!
