As I am sitting on my desk on this shitty day, I am scheming on how to upgrade my tabletop game while navigating wildly and aimlessly on Pinterest. I noticed how I heavily gravitated towards handmade pottery and was amazed by how much variety there was.
I love the idea, perhaps obsessed, that hobbyist patiently perfects their craft in every given time. It is compelling that someone who is passionate loves and explores their craft and appreciates the art of creation and the process that comes with it.
I am also intrigued by the beauty of the glaze, the randomness, and the playful motifs that result from it. I also appreciate the free form and the “talent” of the material and all the countless possibilities of manipulation and decoration this field offers.
These gems make great personal and unique gift which will also look great on any table! Furthermore, it is definitely a great way to support local artists, almost like in old times, when craftsmanship was mainstream and the industrialization was nowhere in sight!
So let’s go and support!
