HOW ROUND FURNITURE PIECES ARE GOING MAINSTREAM

This trend has been present for A WHILE. I remember skimming through magazines and seeing these editorial vignettes featuring hyper curvy furniture. The emphasis should be on “editorial”. It always felt like this fashion worked for a magazine, but not necessarily for someones home. Like any trend, it feels like this tendency has undergone some type of evolution.

The evolution to make this style more commercial. As a result, increasingly more decor brands are introducing well-rounded furniture pieces like it’s the new black. A move away from conventional shapes and fully embracing these curves and the change in accepting “non-conventional” shapes. It goes well with the current social trend of inclusivity. Or maybe I’m looking too deep into it.

For someone, who has an infatuation with tableware, I haven’t posted much about it. I actually enjoy shooting those as it is a fun and creative way to experiment with textures on a smaller scale. It’s an easy way of creating compositions that exude different moods while hoping to inspire others to have fun setting up a fun table.

Sconces Are Uhh-mazing And Here Is Why

First of all, I would like to share, I was never a big fan of sconces. I always associated sconces to be old fashioned and honestly didn’t pay them any mind. The trend dawned on me during the time I worked for West Elm. People were more keen on using sconces than table lamps, which were either due to lack of space in these ever so small Bostonian apartments or the client just preferred the look of a sconce. Living in this era where living spaces seem to get increasingly smaller, emphasizes how practical and essential these light fixtures can be.
